Our Authors

How our authors are vetted

Before an author publishes their first piece on the Site, they pass through three checks:

1. Industry verification — confirmation of their stated work history (LinkedIn cross-check, prior bylines, references from previous publishers).
2. A test review — a real-money review of an operator they haven't previously covered, scored against our editorial scorecard and reviewed line-by-line by the senior editor.
3. A compliance briefing — onboarding on the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, the Australian Privacy Act, ACMA's enforcement priorities, responsible-gambling guidelines, and our editorial independence policy.

Authors disclose any operator they've previously worked for as an employee, contractor, or consultant. Where a conflict of interest exists, the author is recused from coverage of that operator.

Contributing writers

Where we publish bylined work from external contributors (occasional industry analysts, gambling-law academics, or guest writers with subject-matter authority we lack in-house), those bylines appear with full bio links on the contributor's individual /authors/[name]/ page.

Contributor pieces are commissioned and edited under the same standards as in-house work. Contributors disclose any commercial relationship with any operator referenced in their work, and conflicts result in recusal.

Why this matters (the EEAT note)

Google's helpful-content systems prioritise content from sources that demonstrate genuine Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. For our category — online gambling, a YMYL ("Your Money or Your Life") topic — the bar is higher. Anonymous content is downgraded. AI-generated content without human editorial oversight is downgraded.

We invest in named, verifiable authors because (a) it's the right way to publish anywhere, on any topic, and (b) it's what the moment in search has rewarded for the past three years and will continue rewarding.

For our players, the practical implication is simpler: if a recommendation on this Site causes you to lose money, you can find the person who wrote it.
